Energynomics has opened nominations for the 14th edition of the Energynomics Awards. Until 10:30 on 9 November 2026, companies, organisations and energy professionals can nominate the projects, deals, initiatives and people that made a difference to Romania’s energy sector over the past year. The winners will be announced on 25 November at the 2026 Energynomics Awards Gala, at the National Military Circle in Bucharest.

The 2026 edition comes with new rules. The number of projects has grown, segments such as storage have matured, and more companies are investing in several directions at once. The rules aim to stop awards from clustering around the same organisations and to bring more valuable projects in front of the community.

One award per organisation, ranked voting

Nominations are assessed by an independent jury of professionals with experience in the energy industry and in fields relevant to the sector’s development. Beyond the criteria for each category, jurors look at three principles: success (demonstrable results), impact (measurable effects on the energy sector, the community or the economy) and innovation.

A company or organisation can receive no more than one award per edition. The rule also covers individual awards given to people who work for that organisation at the time of nomination. If the same organisation comes first in several categories, it keeps the award where its winning margin is largest, and in the other categories the award goes to the next eligible nomination.

A winning project cannot be entered in the same category for the next two editions. A project that won in 2025 can return to the same category only in 2028.

Each juror ranks every nomination in the category instead of simply picking a favourite. In a category with eight nominations, the project ranked first receives 8 points and the one ranked last receives one point. For each nomination, one highest and one lowest score are then removed and the rest are added up.

    Eleven categories open for nominations

Nominations can be entered in the following categories: Corporate Social Responsibility, Energy Efficiency, Deal of the Year Award, Financing of the Year, Best initiative for energy transition, Green energy achievement of the year, Best newcomer / Best turn-around, Outstanding Developments, Manager of the year, Young Energy Professional and Outstanding Career Achievement Award.

A nomination can come from the nominee, from their company or from anyone else. You can submit several nominations, each in a single category.

The reference period starts in November 2025 and ends at the nomination deadline. The full category descriptions and judging rules are set out in the article dedicated to frequently asked questions.

From the form to the Gala

The form keeps your draft in the browser. Once you submit, you receive an email with a link to edit your nomination until the deadline. You can add a link to photos, videos or other documents that help the jury. Mark any confidential information clearly and it will not be published.

Nominations go to the jury on 10 November, and the jury decides the winners on 16 November. Between 9 and 24 November, the nominations are presented on Energynomics.ro, in articles dedicated to each category.

Entering the competition is free and does not include access to the Gala, which is arranged separately. For any other question, write to us at events @ energynomics.ro.

A competition with tradition – Preparing the 14th edition

The Energynomics Awards have been presented every year since 2013. They are symbolic and carry no financial reward. Only one project wins in each category, but every nomination is presented to the community as an example of good practice.

    Winners of past editions: 2013 · 2014 · 2015 · 2016 · 2017 · 2018 · 2019 · 2020 · 2021 · 2022 · 2023 · 2024 · 2025
