The energy industry celebrated the winners at the 10th Energynomics Awards!

Over 150 representatives of the Romanian energy community celebrated industry performance at the 10th Energynomics Awards for Excellence in Energy! In an anniversary edition, the Energynomics communication platform rewarded the most deserving energy companies, projects and personalities of the year. Prime Minister of Romania Nicolae Ciucă (see the VIDEO!) ans State Secretary in the Ministry of Energy George Niculescu (see the VIDEO!) opened the evening with messages to the industry and congratulations for Energynomics. ES Andrew Noble, the British Ambassador to Romania, and Dumitru Chiriță, the president of ANRE (see the VIDEO!), then spoke on the Gala evening for energy. ES Richard Morningstar, founding president of the Atlantic Council’s Global Energy Center, delivered a special message on the 10th anniversary of Energynomics (see the VIDEO!).

The first part of the Gala ended with the Energynomics Outstanding Contribution Awards, awarded to Niculae Havrileț, former President of ANRE (see the VIDEO!), and Zoltan Nagy-Bege, Vice President of ANRE (see the VIDEO!), for their significant support of Energynomics’ activities over many years, through solid expertise and contributions unanimously recognized by our community.

This was followed by the Energynomics Awards to the winners nominated by an independent jury, made up of Alexandru Pătruți, Advisor CNR-CME, Daniela Barbu, Energy Efficiency Directorate, Ministry of Energy, Radu Dudău, Founder and Director EPG, Radu Bădiță, Director General Directorate General Monitoring and Investigations ANRE, Mihai Drăghici, Director | Business Consulting EY, Vasile Iuga, independent expert, Dragoș Fundulea, Principal Roland Berger Romania and Andrei Covatariu, expert in the Task Force on Energy Digitisation at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).

The evening included an intervention by Călin Meteș, Deputy CEO for Investments of Franklin Templeton International Services.

 

Best Corporate Citizen – Distribuție Oltenia

In the Best Corporate Citizen category, supported by ING Bank, the prize was won by Distribuție Oltenia for the “Apprentice Electrician” program, which contributes to the training of future generations of electricians in Argeș, Dolj, Gorj, Teleorman, Olt and Vâlcea counties.

Energy Efficiency – Adrem

This year’s Energy Efficiency Award was won by Adrem for the more than 800,000 smart meters installed in Romania. Eight other entries were nominated in the category supported by REI Grup.

 

 

Financing Of The Year – Transelectrica

The Financing of the Year Award was won by Transelectrica for its €424 million, 100% non-reimbursable financing for the implementation of 9 investment objectives of particular importance for the development of the national energy infrastructure. In the category supported by EnergoBit, three other applications were nominated: CE Oltenia, for funding of almost €900 million from the Modernisation Fund, Innovation Norway, for the energy programme targeting Romania, and Rompetrol, for financing the modernisation of Petromidia and Vega.

 

Deal Of The Year – Prime Batteries Technology-EIT

The Deal of the Year Award was won by Prime Batteries Technology for its investment agreement with EIT InnoEnnergy for the development of electric battery production in Romania. Enery and Monsson-Rezolv Energy were also nominated.

 

Best Newcomer – Delgaz Grid, pentru proiectul 20HyGrid

In the Best Newcomer category, supported by Photomate, the award went to Delgaz Grid for its 20HyGrid project to explore the options of using a 20% mix of natural gas and hydrogen in natural gas distribution networks and user installations. In total, there were 5 nominated projects.

 

Manager Of The Year – Corneliu Bodea, Adrem

The Manager of the Year Award was won by Corneliu Bodea, CEO of Adrem, with a 30-year career in which he has contributed to increasing energy efficiency, modernising the national energy system and Romania’s development. Cosmin Ghiță, Nuclearelectrica, Cristina Loghină, CEZ Vânzare, Gabriela Dobrescu, DEER and Ioannis Kalapodas, European Energy were also nominated in this category.

 

 

Outstanding Development – EnergoBit Control Systems

The Outstanding Development Award was won by EnergoBit Control Systems for its involvement in the development of new clean energy capacity in Romania; the company has energy projects totaling more than 10,000 MW of installed capacity in various stages. In this category, 8 other applications were submitted.

 

Lifetime Achievement – Doina Ilișiu

The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Mrs Doina Ilișiu, for an exceptional career and decisive contributions to the Romanian energy industry. The Lifetime Achievement Award category was supported this year by Elektra Renewable Support.

 

Young Energy Professional – Adrian Săcuiu and Octavian Roșca – VOLT EVSE Distribution

The winners of the 2022 edition in this category are Adrian Săcuiu and Octavian Roșca, founders of Volt EVSE Distribution, for launching and developing organically and sustainably an EPC company with 100% Romanian capital. Other nominees in this category include Gabriela Oprea (Distribuție Oltenia), Oana Leu (Transelectrica) and Timea Farkas (UTCN/Servelect)..

The evening ended with Energynomics presenting 10 Extraordinary Awards to its most important partners over the past 10 years, a gesture of recognition and thanks to the companies that have consistently and significantly supported Energynomics during its first decade of activity.: ABB, Electrica, ENGIE Romania, Hidroelectrica, Kawasaki Gas Turbine Europe, OMV Petrom, Phoenix Contact, Romgaz, Transelectrica și Nuclearelectrica.
