The 14th edition of the Energynomics Awards Gala will bring the energy community together to recognise the achievements of 2026 and open the conversation about the priorities for 2027.
The competition covers the energy sector as a whole, recognising performance in projects, investment, financing, transactions, energy efficiency, the energy transition, technology, management and public service.
CONCEPT More options. More flexibility
Romania’s energy sector moved through another demanding year in 2026, but the story is not only about pressure. It is also about progress, execution and a system becoming more diverse, more capable and better prepared for change.
Hydropower and nuclear generation faced difficult operating conditions. Gas and coal again showed their value when dependable production was needed. Solar and wind continued to expand, while battery storage became a visible part of the system rather than a promise for the future.
None of these forces defines 2026 on its own. Together, they do.
Grids, interconnections and increasingly flexible markets connected a more complex mix of production and consumption. Producers, operators, traders, suppliers, storage players, consumers and prosumers became more closely linked in one dynamic system. The lesson of 2026 is that strength came from diversity, complementarity and the ability to use different resources when and where they were needed.
Many forces. One system.
At the Energynomics Awards Gala 2026, we celebrate the people, companies, institutions and projects that moved the sector forward: new capacity brought into operation, infrastructure reinforced, investments financed, technologies deployed, markets developed and difficult projects delivered.
And there is reason to look ahead with confidence. In 2027, progress will depend increasingly on integration: more storage and flexibility, stronger grids, smarter operations, more active consumers and better coordination across technologies and markets.
Romania does not enter that next stage from zero. The investments are being made. The expertise is growing. The market is learning.
Tonight, we celebrate those making it happen.

Jurors assess nominations based on the information included in the submissions, the criteria specific to each category and three general principles:
SUCCESS – demonstrable results achieved in the area relevant to the nomination.
IMPACT – measurable effects on the energy sector, the community or the economy.
INNOVATION – the introduction or application of products, services, technologies, models or practices that contribute to the development of Romania’s energy sector.
Each juror evaluates all nominations in the relevant category and ranks them using a comparative points system. The full evaluation, tie-breaking and redistribution rules are available in the Energynomics Awards 2026 FAQ.
