The Ministry of Labor will exert a maximum pressure for the project adopted by the Government on the vulnerable consumer to be voted by the Parliament, so that the application of support measures will be brought forward to January 1, 2022, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Raluca Turcan, wrote on Facebook.

“We will exert a maximum pressure for the project adopted by the Government to be voted by the Parliament, so that we can advance the application of support measures for January 1, 2022: subsidizing energy consumption, depending on the type of energy people consume; supplement, outside the cold season, for other types of energy consumption. Beyond the project of the vulnerable consumer, the Ministry of Energy will come up with a set of solutions to compensate the costs in the current cold season,” Turcan said, according to Agerpres.

The Minister of Labor stressed that there is a project that offers a real solution for people who need to be supported.

“Today we discussed with the Prime Minister, the Minister of Energy and the representatives of the institutions with responsibilities in the energy market about the measures to be taken to protect vulnerable consumers. For the first time in a context of price increases that were not necessarily unexpected, there is a project that offers a real solution for people who need to be supported. Unfortunately, this project is blocked in the Parliament, although we asked for its vote in the emergency procedure,” the Minister of Labor also wrote.

Romanian Government will compensate the electricity bills for Romanians with low and average incomes or average consumption, starting with November 1, said on Tuesday the relevant minister, Virgil Popescu.
