The state wants to open the power & gas exchange for private stockholders by the end of the year

Trading platform for power and gas OPCOM will be privatized by the end of the year through sales of its shares for companies that are already active on the power exchange, told a source from Transelectrica management for economica.net.

„By the end of the year, we want to privatize OPCOM. Stakes will be sold to market actors and other interested entities to have votes on the Board of Directors. The company shall not be open to individuals, will not be listed. Not the selling price its important; it is important to be as transparent as possible”, said the source.

OPCOM is thepower  trading platform available to market participants, be they producers or suppliers. No energy contract may be concluded outside the power exchange, less the regulated market. OPCOM is a company 100% owned by the state.
