The introduction of the 300 kWh monthly compensation threshold must take place in the conditions in which the entire settlement mechanism is functional, Laurențiu Urluescu, President of AFEER, told Energynomics.

“We are still waiting for the money on the compensation scheme, which has been borne by the suppliers for seven months. There are no changes in the settlement method from the amendments to GO 27. The only change that could be more difficult for suppliers, if the settlement mechanism does not work, is for consumers over 300 kWh per month to benefit from a capped price – which, to be honest, from the consumer’s point of view is fair, but, provided that the whole scheme works,” Laurențiu Urluescu, president of AFEER, told Energynomics.

The suppliers are waiting for the changes to the compensation law, which should have been discussed a month ago by the Chamber of Deputies – the specialized commission, he added, but the new amendments do not radically affect the mechanism.

“Let’s see what changes there are, there are a lot of proposals, they should have been discussed last month, in the meeting of the Industry Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, but it was postponed… Some changes are interesting, it would be OK if the whole settlement system would be functional. But there is no proposal that is…either constructive or destructive”, he added.

ANRE published the settlement situation from November 2021-March 2022. At the same time, ANRE indicated that “until now, the activity of the Working Group is carried out normally, in direct collaboration with the operators, reaching the settlement of settlement requests for February – March level. Equally, we can communicate the fact that the Ceiling Platform related to GEO no. 27/2022, dedicated to the period April 2022 – March 2023 will be operational very soon,” it is shown in a release of the institution.

“We are talking about a period in which the amounts were lower, November-December-January … From February the amounts increase. In April, they grow even more, because there are even more beneficiaries of this aid scheme,” stressed Urluescu.
