After the senators, the deputies also voted on Wednesday for the bill on declaring a crisis situation in the fuel sector, reducing excise duty on diesel and limiting exports. PSD deputy Bogdan Ivan says that this step should lead to a reduction in the final price at the pump. The law will go to promulgation.

“An extremely important project has just been voted, namely declaring a crisis situation in the fuel sector, reducing excise duty on diesel, limiting diesel exports, limiting the commercial mark-up and super-taxing exceptional profits in terms of fuel. This should lead to a reduction in the final price for private consumers, but also for companies in our country”, said Bogdan Ivan, after the vote in the plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies, quoted by News.ro.

The measure comes in the context in which the standard assortment of diesel costs over 10 lei per liter and gasoline has exceeded the threshold of 9 lei.

The draft law on declaring a crisis situation on the crude oil and/or petroleum products market, temporarily reducing the excise duty on diesel, establishing a solidarity contribution, as well as establishing measures to protect the economy, the population and the functioning of the energy market was adopted with 293 votes “in favor”, according to HotNews.
