Better maintenance of a factory allows the downtimes to be shortened, according to Gabriel Tache, country Sales Manager, Eaton Romania. Locally, Eaton structured its service services in two directions: Power Quality Service portfolio and Power Distribution, he explained, at the conference “2021: The role of maintenance for industrial recovery”, organized by Energynomics.

The first category of services brings together the Eaton proposal for critical applications in the data centre area, back-up power (UPSs). “We have very interesting solutions on the energy storage and storage management segment. We have proposals that together with the equipment we make available, can provide maintenance of the batteries, and also cover the area of cybersecurity, engineering and auditing the facility,” said Tache. The warranty extension segment is increasingly being sought out. “Some equipment requires 4-5-year guarantees and maintenance must be done as well as possible. When it comes to the installation of equipment, we provide remote access and refurbishment access where appropriate.”

Eaton provides functional tests in various factories, especially in the automotive manufacturing sector, which need to be supplied without interruption. “Even micro-second interruptions are not allowed, because the production cycle would be resumed from the very beginning, with high losses,” explained Eaton’s official.

The second category of services – power distribution – covers the entire value chain: from medium voltage transformation stations to the last socket, the last consumer in the application or network. “Our services cover consultancy, model analysis, audit and project management. Maintenance is carried out with remote access, 24/7”, stated Gabriel Tache, presenting the company’s products in the maintenance segment.

“In Romania, we have a Sales HQ in Bucharest, regional offices in big cities – Constanța, Brașov, Iași, Baia Mare etc and two other large production units – one in Baia Mare – Eaton Electroproduction, and another in Arad – Cooper Industry. They produce technical equipment such as contactors, switches, motor protection etc. Eaton’s main goal is to help our customers meet their targets – whether efficiency, cost reduction, equipment downtime reduction,” he said.
