Oradea wants 16 million euros from NRRP for trams and electric charging stations

Oradea continues to modernize its public transport system by purchasing new trams and electric charging stations, reports Transilvania Business. Local councilors approved in the meeting of Tuesday, 17 May, the submission for funding through the PNRR of a project of over 16 million euros, with 100% non-reimbursable funding, which provides for the purchase of seven new trams and 45 charging stations for electric vehicles.

The unit value of a tram is 8.7 million lei (excluding VAT) or 1.7 million euro (excluding VAT), according to the opportunity study approved by the City Council of Oradea, while the unit value of a charging station for electric vehicles is 123 thousand lei (excluding VAT) or 25,000 euro (excluding VAT).

In the last two years, the municipality of Oradea has purchased 20 new trams and 22 new buses and inaugurated a new tram line on the Calea Aradului – Ceyrat – Cantemir route.
