The demand for the installation of photovoltaic panels mounted on trackers is “on the boil”, driven by the extreme prices reached by natural gas and electricity in all markets of the world. Even the big utility companies started to use this system more and more often, said Lucian Pană, representative of the Geminox company.

“The market is boiling right now. Everyone wants to do it, but they don’t really have what to do. Large utility companies have started to use this system more and more, which can be integrated with a SCADA system,” said Pană, at the conference “Sustainable Communities – Iasi”, organized by Energynomics and SmartiCity.

Panel mounting systems on trackers are more efficient than those on fixed structures in that they help increase the amount of electricity produced by allowing the PV panels to follow the Sun. However, there is reluctance from customers concerned about the performance of this system when adverse weather conditions are experienced.

“There is a reluctance on the part of the client regarding what happens when there is wind or a storm. The system can follow the sun at speeds up to 60 km/h, and if this value is exceeded, the system returns to a safe position. After being put into operation, the system starts to position itself so that each tracker is in the optimal position,” Pană added.

The company has ongoing projects to mount solar panels on trackers and also has a warehouse in the local market, which allows it to deliver orders within two or three days. The Geminox Group has a portfolio of 12GW installed in photovoltaic panels globally.

Geminox is the official representative of Clenergy assembly systems for Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Greece.

The conference “Sustainable Communities – Iasi” was organized by Energynomics and SmartiCity with the support of our partners: ABB, Eaton Electric, Enel X, ENGIE Romania, Flash Lighting Services, Geminox, REI Grup.
