Oil&Gas and Geothermal – Transferable skills and technologies in Upstream

13 May 2021 @ 10:00 - 13:00

Thursday, on May 13th, 2021, from 10.00 to 13.00, Energynomics invite you to an interactive conference about the technologies and business approaches that can optimize the assets Romania has in the O&G industry: resources, technologies, people!

For over 150 years, our societies developed in the Age of Oil, characterized by increased use of hydrocarbons – natural gas, oil processed products, and fuels. Headed to renewables, we will still depend on oil and gas for the next decades, for energy, heating, transport, and chemicals. This is of particular importance for Romania, because of its large reserves and also because of its extended O&G infrastructure. However, a sense of urgency dominates the industry. Well-established companies and new players actively search for lateral moves to strengthen their future; these are usually related to capitalizing on solid geological knowledge and know-how (geothermal), integrating renewables (wind and solar) or new energy carriers (eg. hydrogen).

Core businesses mean optimizing exploration on mature fields, based on new technologies (big data analysis, AI, cloud), and also exploitation using solutions like under-balanced drilling, multi-lateral wells, high accuracy reservoir navigation, remote geosteering, and Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage. O&G transport and storage have to move towards low GHG emissions and hydrogen-ready assets. Many of these depend on general policies and public authorities’ decisions.

We aim at bringing in front of you experts and companies from which to learn more about the technologies and business approaches that can optimize the assets Romania has in the O&G industry: resources, technologies, people!
