Brasov Energy Day returns this year with its 14th edition, which will take place on March 13–14 at the Radisson Blu Aurum Hotel in Brasov.
The event is organized by REPOM, a company with extensive experience in comprehensive asset management services for renewable energy plant owners, and, for the third consecutive year, together with COALition, an international consortium dedicated to the transformation of coal regions. The strategic partner of the conference is the Employers’ Organization of Renewable Energy Producers – PATRES.
The 2026 edition, themed “Digitalization in energy: from electrons to intelligence – The Digital Energy Guide,” will bring together approximately 200 participants, leaders in public policy, industry, and finance, to explore how digital capabilities – data, artificial intelligence, automation, and interoperable platforms – can generate measurable cost savings, increased resilience, and sustainable development. The event is aimed at executives and managers in energy-intensive industries and the utilities sector, network and system operators, software, IoT, and AI providers, regulators, decision-makers, investors, banks, insurers, municipalities, and administrators.
Martin Moise, General Manager of REPOM & Vice President of PATRES, states: “We are delighted to organize the 14th edition of our traditional conference, Brașov Energy Day. The energy transition is not just about green energy, but smart energy. Secure digitalisation, automation and data usage must become an integral part of every energy decision – from production and storage to networks and consumption. We invite all participants in Brașov to discuss how we can turn technology into a competitive advantage, reducing operational costs and accelerating decarbonization through concrete and fundable projects.”
Alina Maria Ardelean, REPOM Development Director, adds: “In 2026, Brașov Energy Day will connect to the COALition Hubs network, supporting cooperation between European regions undergoing energy transition. This collaboration facilitates the exchange of best practices, partnerships, and the development of communities that accelerate renewable energy, digitization, and decarbonization projects. REPOM’s involvement reflects our vision to support the transition of coal-mining regions to a renewable-based economy.”
Agenda and speakers
The first day of debates, March 13, will include discussions with leaders from government, industry, and national and international experts, addressing topics that are essential for the future of energy. One panel will be dedicated to the COALition Consortium, which is developing a unified strategy for sustainable energy in three European regions undergoing transition: Western Macedonia (Greece), Central (Romania), and Southeast (Bulgaria). The initiative aims to create Regional Hubs of Excellence, bringing together stakeholders through a Quadruple Helix model to establish common priorities and actions for a climate-neutral local economy.
The second day, March 14, will be dedicated to technical workshops, focusing on concrete solutions and replicable models for the digital energy transition. Participants will have access to sessions led by academics and industry players.
The conference will be opened by Martin Moise, General Manager of REPOM & First Vice President of PATRES, and George Scripcaru, Mayor of Brașov.
Confirmed speakers include: Roxana Minzatu – Executive Vice-President of the European Commission; George Niculescu – President of ANRE; Virgiliu Ivan – Director of DEN, Transelectrica; Julian Popov – Senior Fellow, Strategic Perspectives, Brussels; Cristina Prună – Vice-President of the Committee on Industry and Services, Chamber of Deputies; Mădălin Borș – Secretary of the Committee on Information Technology and Communications, Chamber of Deputies; Dan-Virgil Pascu – Vice President of the Competition Council; Liviu Gavrilă – Vice President of RWEA; Dan Drăgan – Energy Expert, former Secretary of State; Silviu Costea – President of the Brașov Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

From energy to artificial intelligence
The 14th edition of Brașov Energy Day marks the moment when the energy sector enters the digital age. In a decentralized system with thousands of prosumers, variable renewable sources, and complex energy flows, data, automation, and artificial intelligence become essential for stability, efficiency, and competitiveness.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- understand the regulations and market mechanisms that support digitization;
- discover digital technologies that reduce energy bills and increase plant availability;
- assess real risks and cybersecurity solutions in IT/OT energy environments;
- obtain clear benchmarks for initiating digitization processes and available financing options;
- interact directly with solution providers, investors, and other professionals in the sector.
The media partners for the event are: E-nergia, Energynomics, Financial Intelligence, Focus Energetic, InvesTenergy, and Energy Center.
