Asociația Inginerilor Energeticieni și Electricieni (AIEE) is organising the second edition of the Technical Forum in the Energy Industry in Deva, from 18 to 20 September 2026. The central theme of this year’s edition is “Regeneration of energy systems and infrastructure”, and the organisers expect more than 100 experts and representatives of the energy sector to attend.

The Forum continues the initiative launched in Sibiu in 2025 and is designed as a platform for technical dialogue among engineers, experts, operators and solution providers directly involved in the design, operation and development of energy systems. The first edition focused on critical events in power systems, system restoration and cybersecurity.

This year’s edition starts from the simultaneous pressures facing existing infrastructure: ageing equipment and grids, electrification and the integration of renewable energy sources, digitalisation, and the need for greater operational flexibility. According to AIEE, discussions will address both the modernisation of existing infrastructure and the integration of digital technologies, the development of flexibility and energy storage solutions, the integration of distributed energy resources and new categories of consumers, as well as improving resilience and operational safety.

The programme is structured over three days and combines five discussion sessions with technical tutorials, solution presentations, networking and a technical visit. The first two sessions are scheduled for Friday, 18 September, while Saturday will feature another three sessions and a press conference. Sunday is reserved for technical visits.

The event will take place at Conacul Archia in Deva, in a region with a strong industrial and energy tradition in Romania.

AIEE says that the detailed panel structure and specific technical topics will be further developed as the programme and list of participants are finalised.
