A new budgetary revision was approved today by the General Council of Bucharest, the Capital’s mayor, Nicușor Dan, wrote on his Facebook page.

Thus, PMB will purchase 100 new trolleybuses and will direct an additional 80 million lei to heating utilities.

“Through the budget correction approved today by the General Council of the Municipality of Bucharest, we solve several issues related to the completion of important investments, but also to the coverage of some expenses for services that have increased in recent months: we updated the prices in order to complete the purchase of 100 trolleybuses, for the upgrading of tram lines and for intelligent traffic lights; we included the sums necessary for the purchase of consulting services and technical assistance in order to obtain the environmental agreement for the SIDU (integrated urban development strategy), so that the Municipality can access European funds, and we allocated 80 million lei for the heating subsidy. The amounts were necessary because the thermal energy bills are higher than the forecasts from the beginning of the year,” said Nicușor Dan.

At the same time, an additional 17 million lei were allocated for the repairs of streets, sidewalks and markings, as well as for public lighting, he also said.
