Speedwell, a major real estate developer in Romania, announces the installation of photovoltaic panels for two of its projects: Record Park in Cluj and Miro in Bucharest. The company plans to improve the properties in its own portfolio and transform them into buildings with a higher degree of sustainability, according to Transilvania Business.

One of Speedwell’s steps towards sustainability in real estate is the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roofs of office buildings. Miro will benefit from a photovoltaic project with a capacity of 400 kwp, starting February 2023. The project is contracted by Wiren, through its representative, Dan Fleșariu, and has a completion date of March.

The same action plan will be implemented at Record Park Offices, part of the mixed-use project with the same name, in Cluj-Napoca. Starting in March 2023, photovoltaic panels with a capacity of 150 kwp will be installed both on the roof of the Record Park office building and on that of the sports center within the complex.

This move is part of the company’s sustainability plan, which emphasizes the use of innovative techniques and technologies to improve the environmental footprint of the properties in its portfolio. Speedwell has a strong track record of sustainable construction and is committed to meeting the highest standards of environmental, social and governance (ESG) practice.

“We are committed to reducing the impact on the environment and developing more sustainable projects. The decision to install photovoltaic panels on the Miro and Record Park buildings is a natural but significant step in achieving our goal of improving the projects developed. We believe that by investing in renewable energy we can not only reduce our carbon footprint, but also reduce costs for building users,” says Didier Balcaen, CEO and Co-Founder of Speedwell.

“We are honored by the collaboration with Speedwell, to make our contribution to reducing the carbon footprint in Romania’s busiest and most active cities. Our objective is to provide suitable solutions to all those who believe and want to make a difference in the future of this planet. The beautiful part is that care for the environment comes together with energy independence, which we support regardless of whether it is at the corporate or residential consumer level,” also says Dan Fleșariu, CEO, Wiren.
