Oradea is the only city in Romania where the population is connecting in an upward trend, during the last five years, to the district’s heating network, told on Friday Agerpres, the commercial director of SC Termoficare SA, Dan Creţu.

“In 2014, we had 62,500 apartments connected to the district heating network, and now we have almost 69,000. For us it means increasing sales and decreasing losses and for the population it means increased confidence in our services. We are the only company in Romania that, in the last five years, not only has not lost consumers, but, on the contrary, has gained new consumers, we increase our number of consumers annually by about 10%. It is the only city in Romania where this is happening,”said Dan Creţu.

According to him, the reasons for connecting are two: first, the support of the town hall and the district heating company for the new real estate areas, in the sense that they are provided with the extension of the thermal connection and the supply of the thermal modules, as well as the establishment of unit heating zones, where the industrial development areas are “somewhat forced to access the centralized system”, as in new neighborhoods, of condominium type.

Almost 78% of the city’s population is connected to the district heating network, respectively 150,000 inhabitants, 3,200 houses, 69,000 apartments and 238 public and private institutions.
