The motion of censure filed by the Social Democrats against the cabinet led by Florin Cîțu was debated and voted in the reunited plenary of the Parliament. More than 280 parliamentarians from PSD-USR-AUR voted for the dismissal of the Government, thus exceeding the majority necessary for the adoption of the censure motion.

318 parliamentarians were present. The parliamentarians of PNL, UDMR and of the national minorities did not vote. 234 votes were needed to pass the motion.

“The Parliament adopts the motion of censure and withdraws the trust granted to the Government, by the decision of the Romanian Parliament no. 31 of 2020. According to article 110 para. 4 of the Constitution, the Government whose mandate has ceased does not fulfill the necessary acts for public affairs by the members of the new Government”, announced the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Ludovic Orban.
