From 9-11 April, 2014, SGS will attend the 2nd International PV Platform in Arad, Romania and showcase its comprehensive portfolio of photovoltaic services.

SGS Romania’s Mihaela Sârbu will also hold a presentation entitled “Independent Technical Due Diligence Process for PV Projects,” addressing project financing for photovoltaic power plants.

A sector with favourable forecasts

The photovoltaic energy sector in Romania has a high growth potential due to an incentive scheme for investors in photovoltaic giving 6 green certificates for each megawatt installed before 1 January, 2014. Sector remains attractive and its growing tendency for the next years, although some legislative changes leading to mitigate the level of investments.

Romania is focusing on increasing renewable energy capacity in order to reduce its dependence on fossil fuel resources and investment in the renewable sector is still developing. At the end of 2013 wind power installed capacity was 2,500 MW and more than 1,100 MW in solar. At the end of 2013, installed capacity was 2500 MW in wind farms and 1100 MW in solar technology. The Minister of Energy has announced his encouragement for investments in 2014 strengthening solar and photovoltaic, biomass and micro hydro projects.

In 2013, SGS attended the 6th International Trade Fair and Conferences for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, a similar REECO & RENEXPO-organized event held in Bucharest in November 2013. Though, this marks the first SGS appearance in Arad.

REECO – 2nd International PV Platform in Romania

The over 2,000 square meters of exhibition space will provide representatives from over 50 key industry players enough room for introducing products and services for the photovoltaic sector. More than 2,000 visitors are expected over the 3-days fair and 120 participants will be welcomed to the parallel 2-day PV conference: „Changes & Risks“, addressing photovoltaic topics such as project financing, the latest legislative trends, the development of multinational companies and a compact view of the Romanian PV market.

SGS will participate at this event with a stand located in the area HA-G11 and a presentation on the first day of the PV conference.
