The companies Schneider and Continental are in an accelerated transformation process in which digitization, energy efficiency and the elimination of CO2 emissions are at the forefront.

“In recent years, the company has been in a process of digital transformation in a sense where digitization and energy efficiency are at the forefront,” said Mihaela Gușă, Healthcare & Hotels Market Segment Manager, Schneider Electric Romania, at the conference “Digitalization and energy efficiency – Timișoara”, organized by Energynomics. “This transformation means that in addition to providing quality solutions and products, we propose solutions that support the end customer in optimizing their use over the lifetime of the building.”

According to Gușă, efficiency also means energy efficiency and operational efficiency for maintenance staff, as well as the safety of people and property in a building. “A building cannot be efficient all the time or for a long period of operation if the energy consumption is not constantly monitored and the necessary optimization measures are not taken”, added Guță.

Schneider ran a project to improve the efficiency of energy consumption at the Continental company in Timișoara. For the company, one of the most important trends concerns sustainability, a concept that the company integrates into all levels of operation. “Almost everything will change to ensure this sustainability”, said Cristian Neculiță, Facility Manager at Continental Automotive Romania before presenting some concrete examples of actions already taken.

He specified that in 2050 Continental aims to reach the level of zero emissions, both in the company and with regard to its suppliers.

“We aim to have zero emissions in 2050, which challenges us to adapt all our operation modes and products so that there is no CO2 emission either in the company or on the entire supplier chain”, said Neculiță.

The conference “Digitalization and energy efficiency – Timișoara” was organised by Energynomics with the support of our partners BCR, Finder, Lapp România, REI Group, Volt.
