RoPower Nuclear, member of the American Nuclear Society

    RoPower Nuclear, the company developing the SMR project in Doicești, is the first and only institution in Romania to join the American Nuclear Society (ANS), an organization that has been promoting innovation, science and nuclear technologies for 72 years.

    ANS represents a pole of expertise formed by nuclear engineers, researchers, scientists and other highly trained professionals from related fields, such as health. Joining ANS sends a strong signal of the company’s commitment to promoting nuclear technologies, especially in the context of developing the most advanced SMR project in Europe.

    “We are pleased to welcome RoPower to the American Nuclear Society as a member of our organization. By joining a global community of over 12,000 nuclear professionals and 120 partner organizations, RoPower will help expand the nuclear workforce and deepen public understanding and appreciation of nuclear science and technology,” said Craig Piercy, CEO/Executive Director of the American Nuclear Society.

    “The RoPower Nuclear team is now part of a highly reputable group in the nuclear field. It is an honor for us to be the first and indeed the only ones in Romania to join the American Nuclear Society, a robust group of professionals synonymous with the development and promotion of nuclear technologies over the last 70 years. Our membership is based on a compatibility of values ​​but also gives us access to this pole of expertise and international support for nuclear energy in general and for SMR technology specifically,” said RoPower Nuclear Technical and Operations Director, Dan Șerbănescu.

    ANS includes, with membership status, renowned companies in the nuclear field, including NuScale Power, the developer of the technology used in the Doicești SMR project, as well as European leaders in the field of nuclear energy, such as Framatome. RoPower Nuclear, the project company with the mission to develop the first SMR project in Europe, in the town of Doicești, is the only Romanian institution member of the American Nuclear Society. RoPower Nuclear Technical and Operations Director Dan Șerbănescu has been affiliated with the group of international experts supporting the development of nuclear energy within the society, since 2010.
