About 21% of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) is allocated for digitalization, the equivalent of over 6 billion euros, and on the side of public institutions we are trying to bring Romania into the 21st century, said on Tuesday the Secretary of State in Ministry of European Investments and Projects (MIPE) Csilla Hegeduş, in a specialized conference.

“MIPE is always to blame for PNRR. We always start from here. I assume it is also to blame for the fact that 21% of PNRR will go on digitalization and around 40% on green. There are many things that MIPE did not want, but the European Commission. Negotiating the PNRR, good, bad, as it is, was a very difficult procedure, because the European Commission has very clear ideas about what should be in our PNRR. We relied on the two Country Reports, 2019 – 2020, and the necessities resulted from there should be covered by PNRR. If we talk about 21% of PNRR for digitalization, then we are talking about an amount of over 6 billion euro. That amount of money has never been available and I don’t think it will be for this sector. From my point of view, this money is needed. I hate to stand in line and at the counter, everyone is standing and a lady is looking at you because you didn’t bring a paper again. Not to mention the online form to be submitted at the 2nd floor, room 23 … I hope all this doesn’t happen again. Here, MIPE has the role of a watchdog, so that everyone can do their job. The hard part is on the shoulders of the ministries … And from this point of view, we are trying to bring Romania into the 21st century,” Hegeduş claimed, according to Agerpres.

According to the MIPE official, in the digitalization segment, the government cloud project is the most important, she added.
