Companies and local authorities have access to over 8 billion euros through European funds and state aid in the coming period, the funds being intended for investments in production, green energy, energy efficiency and infrastructure, according to an analysis by REI Grup.

The amounts were initially scheduled for this summer, but most of the programs have been rescheduled for this autumn.

The funding is divided into two main directions: companies can access funds for regional development, production, transport, logistics and decarbonization, while local public administrations can submit projects for renewable energy and storage, energy efficiency, strengthening buildings at seismic risk, education, digitalization and industrial parks.

“We are facing a generous period of non-reimbursable financing, with a focus on development, investments in the modernization of production units or increasing energy efficiency, where allocations exceeding 4 billion euros through state aid schemes and European funds are available to companies and local public authorities this fall, and another 4 billion through the Romanian economic recovery mechanism. Thus, in conditions where access to financing is becoming increasingly difficult, the availability of non-reimbursable funds is a breath of fresh air for entrepreneurs, city halls or county councils,” said Roxana Mircea, managing partner of REI Grup.

In total, 13 major financing programs, with allocations of over 4 billion euros, are already open or are to be launched in the coming period. Over 2 billion euros are dedicated to the energy and logistics sector.

For the e-Mobility program, which provides for the development of electric vehicle recharging infrastructure on the national network of motorways, expressways and national TEN-T roads, 299 million euros have been allocated. For the e-Drive program to support investments for the acquisition of zero-emission vehicles for road passenger transport, 50 million euros are provided. And for e-Move Ro – Promoting infrastructure for zero-emission mobility in support of enterprises and communities – 250 million euros are provided. For the Fm Stocare program – stand-alone, the budget is 150 million euros. And supporting investments in the development of new storage capacities for electricity produced from renewable energy sources for public entities benefits from another 150 million euros, REI officials claim.
