Power consumption surged on Saturday by 49% in Bucharest

The electricity consumption increased with 49% on Saturday in Bucharest, compared to the same day of the previous week, according to the representatives of E-Distributie Muntenia.

“On July 1st, given the heat conditions, the increase in energy consumption in Bucharest compared to the same day of the previous week was 49%. Thus, the total consumption in Bucharest was 938,59 MW on July 1st, 2017, comparative to 626,03 MW from June 24th, 2017″, states the quoted source.

According to the representatives of E-Distributie Muntenia, in some transformation stations the consumption increase was about 80% on July 1st, compared to June 24th, according to Agerpres.

Thus, the consumption in the Balta Albă Station increased by 77%, from 16,2 MW at 28,7 MW, and in the Toporaşi station the consumption increased by 86%, from 25,9 MW at 48,4 MW.

On Saturday, the capital and 19 counties, were in the interval from 10:00 to 21:00, under the red code of extreme temperatures and heat discomfort.
