The Minister of Economy, Virgil Popescu, says that even in the current context of the coronavirus pandemic the gas and electricity markets will be liberalized according to the established timetable.

“Yes, of course, the price of oil and gas falls sharply, the liberalization continues according to the calendar,” said the Economy Minister Virgil Popescu, quoted by e-nergia.ro.

The gas market will be liberalized for domestic consumers starting July 1, 2020, and the electricity market starting January 1, 2021, according to the legal acts in force.
