Romania officially submitted, on Friday evening, payment request no. 5 from the PNRR, worth a total of 2.84 billion euro, announced the interim Minister of Investments and European Projects, Dragoș Pîslaru.

“Romania has officially submitted payment request no. 5 of the PNRR, totaling 2.84 billion euro. CP5 includes 75 targets and milestones (21 reforms, 54 investments), cumulating a net value of 1.65 billion euro in non-reimbursable European funds (grants) and 433 million euros in the loan component. It is the penultimate payment request from the PNRR. With this submission, we reach 78% absorption on the grants side. When I took office last year, we were at 47% – accumulated in 4 and a half years,” Pislaru wrote on his Facebook page on Saturday.

According to him, in the last year, 31 percentage points were added to the absorption of funds and the allocation of 13.57 billion euros on grants was fully maintained.

“After the payment request was submitted by my colleagues from the Ministry of Investments and European Projects (to whom I thank again), I went to the Ministry of Labor, where I stayed until after midnight with the team to work on the unitary wage project. I also thank my colleagues from the Ministry of Labor,” said Pîslaru, who is also acting as interim minister at the Ministry of Labor.

Romania’s Recovery and Resilience Plan is financed with 21.41 billion euro, of which 13.57 billion euro in the form of grants and 7.84 billion euro in the form of loans.
