Over 50% of Romanian drivers refuel with premium fuel at least occasionally, and one in three use exclusively this type of fuel, according to a national survey commissioned by MOL. For 74% of drivers, fuel quality is a determining factor in choosing a gas station.

Consumers choose premium fuel primarily to protect the engines of vehicles, but the quality of this type of fuel compared to that of the basic fuel and better driving performance are other decisive factors for this choice.

The quality of the fuels, the price of the fuel and the location of the refueling stations are determining factors in the choice of the refueling station.

Better engine behavior (39%), better quality (37%) and better performance (32%) are the main reasons why Romanian drivers opt for premium fuels, according to the MOL survey. Price is the main factor why consumers are reluctant to buy premium fuel, and another common answer is that the quality of regular fuel is good enough. However, 83% of respondents agree with the statement that premium fuel provides better driving performance. In other words, the use of premium fuel is a value added in the price-quality ratio. This approach is also supported by the fact that the vast majority of drivers (76%) choose the filling station according to the quality of the fuel,

On the other hand, the latest survey commissioned by MOL shows that there are still many consumers who are not fully aware of the benefits of using premium fuel.
