The remuneration of OMV Petrom employees is at competitive levels for the relevant oil and gas industry and includes fixed amount bonuses and special allowances under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

It also includes other benefits, such as the private insurance system, paid holiday/ vacation allowance, or performance bonuses, say the company’s representatives, in response to the accusations of the Petrom National Union, which claim that the offer made by the company during the negotiations of the new Collective Labor Agreement “is disconnected from the evolution of costs”.

At the same time, the company’s management emphasizes that it wants to reach a favorable result in terms of collective bargaining agreements.

“We will maintain the same level of competitiveness in the future, an intention that we have expressed in the ongoing Collective Labor Agreement negotiations. We take into account the current economic context and the evolution of the company and we want to reach a favorable result for our employees as soon as possible. We are counting on the good faith of our union partners to complete the negotiations with good results for all parties involved,” they said, according to Agerpres.

OMV Petrom employees picket Petrom City headquarters in Bucharest and OMV Petrom headquarters in Suplacu de Barcău, Piteşti, Ploieşti, Buzău, Constanţa, as well as Petrobrazi Refinery, being dissatisfied with the offer made by the company during the negotiations of the new Collective Labor Agreement, which it is disconnected from the evolution of costs.

According to a statement from the Petrom National Union, these protests are taking place in the context of the explosion in energy, gas, fuel and food prices, as well as rampant inflation, which authorities estimate will exceed the 8% threshold. Union members want to make sure that OMV Petrom “will truly show that it respects its employees and wants to prevent them from being deprived of the protection of a Collective Labor Agreement”, which expires in just a few days, on December 31, 2021.
