E.ON Energie Romania completed in 2021 the construction of 21 photovoltaic power plants for companies from 12 counties, the total value of the projects amounting to over 3.3 million euro.
The solar power plants, designed to meet the specific needs and requirements of each partner, have nominal installed power between 118 and 470 kWp and provide between 34 and 100% of their energy needs.
The construction involved the installation of 10,400 photovoltaic modules in the locations of E.ON partners on an area of about 15,600 square meters. With a total installed capacity of 2.85 MWp, photovoltaic systems produce about 3,730 MWh of renewable electricity per year and will help protect the environment by reducing CO2 emissions by about 880 tons per year.

Sustainability is no longer a checkbox, it is a critical area of investment that can bring our partners opportunities for competitive advantage and also means an effective contribution to the transition to a zero-emission greenhouse gas economy,” stated Claudia Griech, General Manager of E.ON Energie Romania.
The construction time of the power plants, from the start of the works until delivery, was on average of about 7 months. With a long life of about 25 years and a payback period of 4-7 years, solar power plants are the most competitive option for energy production in terms of costs.
E.ON provided the partners with the entire investment project for energy efficiency, from consulting and custom design, to implementation and post-installation services.
In the segment of energy solutions dedicated to companies, E.ON’s portfolio of photovoltaic generation projects consists so far in over 220 projects. Of these, 90 have been completed and another 130 are being implemented for the most important companies in various branches of industry, retail, logistics centers, shopping centers, office buildings, etc.
In total, within the 220 projects, 58,000 photovoltaic panels will be installed, which will generate 27,000 MWh per year of renewable energy and will contribute to the reduction of approximately 6,800 tons per year of carbon dioxide emissions.
