Future Energy Leaders (FEL) Romania, the youth platform of the Romanian National Committee of the World Energy Council (WEC-WEC), announces the election of the Executive Director and the departmental leadership team for 2025.
During the General Assembly of FEL Romania, the new steering committee team responsible for the coordination of the programme was elected. Thus, Olivian Savin was elected as the new Executive Director of FEL Romania, together with the new management team of the departments, formed by the following members: Raluca Andronoiu – Marketing and Communication Manager, Iuliana Ilișescu – Programmes and Events Manager, Raluca Gabor – Regulations and Public Affairs Manager, Pavel Stan – Community Manager.
FEL Romania’s newly elected management team will continue the mission to strengthen the programme’s projects and develop new opportunities for young energy professionals. They will shape the community of young energy professionals to actively contribute to the industry and adapt global energy trends into policy recommendations at the local level, creating a dynamic and accessible environment that facilitates the discovery and understanding of the energy field today.
Ștefan Gheorghe, Executive General Director of CNR – WEC, congratulated the new management team of FEL Romania, appointed to coordinate the activities of the programme in 2025. “FEL Romania plays a crucial role in shaping the next generation of energy leaders and we confidently support this mission. We look forward with optimism to 2025, a year in which the programme will continue to evolve and strengthen the strong partnership between CNR-CME and FEL.”
In her turn, Elena Ratcu, Co-Founder of the programme and CNR – CME Advisor, recalled the objective with which the FEL programme was launched – “to create a strong community of young professionals passionate about energy and future energy leaders in Romania”.
Olivian Savin continues his journey in the FEL Romania programme, taking over the position of Executive Director, after two years in which he coordinated the Marketing and Communication department of the organisation. Rareș Hurghiș has coordinated FEL Romania for two mandates and remains with the new team as Board Advisory.
Since joining the community, Olivian has been part of the teams writing articles, organising conferences and training sessions, taking care of the organisation’s image and liaising with partners. Olivian holds a PhD in Energy Engineering, graduating as head of class from the Faculty of Energetics of UPB with specialisation in Hydropower. He followed an international research master in France at Grenoble INP, then worked at one of the most important players in the energy market in Europe and worldwide, Electricité de France (EDF), where he realised an industrial PhD thesis, completing his higher education in 3 different languages. He returned to Romania and worked in the private sector in regulation, now coordinating the independent aggregation technical activity of one of the first licensed companies in this field, Nano Energies. He has been part of Leadership Leaders and the Aspen Young Leaders Program, and due to his involvement and impact in the field, in 2023 he was included in the Forbes 30 under 30 Romania list.
“I am honoured to take on the role of Executive Director of FEL Romania and grateful for the trust placed in me”, said Olivian Savin. “I look forward, together with this dedicated team in the programme, to further strengthen partnerships and continue to develop valuable skills, expertise and opportunities for young energy professionals, not least to strengthen the impact of our community by working with the public, private and academic sectors. We aim for FEL Romania to be a platform that inspires, educates and supports the next generation of young professionals. The energy of the future depends on tomorrow’s leaders.”
