Nuclearelectrica profit up 11% in Q1

Nuclearelectrica ended the first quarter of this year with a net profit of 35.435 million lei, 11% higher than the similar period last year, according to financial information submitted to the Bucharest Stock Exchange on Thursday. EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization) increased by 24% over the same period last year, at 160.265 million lei, according to Agerpres and economica.net.

Company revenues totaled 468.79 million lei, while in the first three months of last year the recorded level was 461.532 million lei. Operating expenses were, in January-March 2015 of 442.207 million lei. Energy production amounted to 2,762 GWh during the mentioned period. Nuclearelectrica’s main activities are focused on the production of electricity, heat and nuclear fuel.

Nuclearelectrica has two branches: CNE Cernavodă, which operates units 1 and 2 and ancillary services, and FCN Pitești brand, the factory for nuclear fuel.
