Nova Power & Gas, Transgaz, and the Greek company Atlantic – See LNG Trade signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of liquefied natural gas (LNG) within the Transatlantic Energy Cooperation Partnership (P-TEC 2025), organized in Athens.

The event brought together representatives from Central and Eastern European countries, the United States, and European institutions, with the common goal of strengthening energy security and diversifying supply routes.

The agreement provides for collaboration between Nova Power & Gas, Transgaz, and Atlantic – See LNG Trade to identify and develop regional LNG supply solutions from the United States. The initiative is part of efforts to integrate the Romanian market into the transatlantic energy trade network and strengthen the Vertical Natural Gas Corridor – a strategic infrastructure linking northern Greece to Central Europe.

“The signing of this memorandum is the first step towards ensuring a stable and secure flow of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for our region. This collaboration can be expanded by building HVDC electricity interconnectors, fiber optic trunk lines, and AI data centers, all located along the Vertical Natural Gas Corridor. The benefits of these projects will be enormous for the entire region,” said Teofil Mureșan, Chairman of the Board of Directors and founder of the E-INFRA group.

Thanks to its geographical position and existing transport infrastructure, Romania has the potential to become an important hub for balancing and distributing energy resources in the region. The initiative marks a new stage in cooperation between transatlantic partners and Southeast European countries, in a context where energy security is becoming increasingly important.
