The Ministry of Energy made, by August 28, 2026, payments to beneficiaries of projects financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) worth 233.07 million euros, the institution informed on Friday.
In comparison, payments made by the end of last year amounted to 212.57 million euros, and the total cumulative payments to beneficiaries since the beginning of the program thus exceeded 445 million euros.
According to the ministry’s data, between August 24 and 28, 2026, payments worth 11.48 million euros were made and 14 transfer requests were authorized, with a total value of 35.50 million euros.
There are 23 transfer requests worth approximately 42.97 million euros currently being processed, of which 5 files, worth 6.83 million euros, come from 2025 (quarter II: 0.41 million euros – 1 file; quarter III: 5.49 million euros – 3 files and quarter IV: 0.94 million euros – 1 file), and 18 files, with a total of almost 36.13 million euros, are from 2026 (quarter I: 10.94 million euros – 3 files; quarter II: 3.84 million euros – 5 files; quarter III: 21.36 million euros – 10 files), according to Agerpres.
Regarding the value of terminated/terminated contracts from the PNRR, this amounted to 67.04 million euros, and the remaining value for which applications can be submitted is 157.15 million euros.
The Ministry of Energy states that on August 28, 2026, it met the target for the construction of cogeneration and centralized heating plants. Thus, the two high-efficiency cogeneration projects, implemented at the level of UAT Constanța and Arad, received the technical acceptance to put under voltage for the start of the technical testing period.
Also, two projects developed by OMV Petrom, aimed at installing a 55 MW electrolysis capacity for the production of green hydrogen, were completed. The production of green hydrogen contributes to achieving national and European decarbonization objectives.

The sustained pace of payments and the progress recorded confirm the advance of investments in the energy sector and contribute to accelerating the process of modernization and energy transition in Romania,” a statement from the Ministry of Energy states.
