The Ministry of Development announced that it has allocated the first tranche of subsidies for district heating, amounting to about 42 million lei. According to a release, Cseke Attila, Minister of Development, Public Works and Administration, approved the allocation to the local budgets of some administrative-territorial units of the first tranche of the subsidy to compensate the costs related to the acquisition of natural gas needed to produce centralized thermal energy for the cold season 2021-2022 .

The allocated amount is related to the consumption of natural gas from November and December 2021, according to the requests submitted by the administrative-territorial units until this date, following that, at the request of local administrations, other funds will be allocated in the following installments – said the minister.

“Through this measure, we support citizens and local authorities in paying their heating bills. I encourage eligible local authorities, which have natural gas-fired central heating systems, to apply,” said minister Cseke Attila, who stressed that 31 localities are eligible for the subsidy nationwide.

Thus, for November, Arad, Bacău, Oradea, Brașov, Constanța, Giurgiu, Odorheiu Secuiesc, Gheorgheni, Iași, Ploiești, Sibiu, Timișoara, Tulcea, Bârlad and Focșani will receive the total amount of 26,434,682.70 lei, and for December, a total amount of 15,562,832.46 lei will be allocated for the municipalities of Oradea, Giurgiu, Timișoara and Focșani.

The 2022 state budget law provides for 400 million lei for this financing line, the minister of Development reminded.
