The Mintia power plant has entered testing, being connected to the grid, and the Scada equipment has entered testing, market sources told Energynomics. Transelectrica later issued a press release announcing that “the 400 kV connection to Gas Turbine 1 (TG 1), the transformers for connecting to the system and supplying internal services within the MASS Mintia Combined Cycle Power Plant were tested with voltage from the 400 kV Mintia substation”.

They also said that the work was successfully completed, and later the specialists continued the specific technical verification and testing activities related to the power plant’s electrical installations, a process lasting approximately 30 days.

“Today’s achievement reflects the continuous efforts, commitment and close cooperation between the entities involved in the project and the Romanian state authorities. It also demonstrates the dedication, professionalism and sustained work of all the teams that contributed to the completion of this critical stage”, Transelectrica officials also said.

The new Mintia power plant will produce electricity based on natural gas, becoming the largest power plant of this type in the European Union. With a total installed capacity of 1,700 MW, it will generate approximately 12,159 GWh annually and will also use resources from the Neptun Deep perimeter.
