AFEER President Ion Lungu believes that suppliers should be supported by the possibility of being able to get finance in the short term, with as little or no interest as possible, while guaranteeing payments is an essential element for overcoming the crisis, according to the facebook page of the Suppliers Association.

Between March 15 and April 10, energy consumption decreased by about 7%, Lungu said.

“We anticipate that, by the end of April, there will be a decrease of about 10%. We hope that by the end of the year, after the economy will restart, the decrease of consumption at the country level will be of just about 10-12%”, AFEER president said.

At the same time, the legislative changes taken during the crisis are affecting the energy market.

“The first piece of legislation was the Emergency Ordinance 29, which gives SMEs the possibility to postpone their utility bills during the emergency period, without any provision related to any support for suppliers. They are those who ensure the relationship with customers and those who collect the money. Our opinion, of the organization of the electricity suppliers, was that, as long as there is a smaller disruption in the cash flow of the suppliers, this will be reflected in very small disruptions in the rest of the chain, so as not to create malfunctions in the transport, distribution or products of electricity,” said Lungu, during an event.
