The regulatory act by which we ensure that the price of natural gas will not increase after March 31 has been finalized and, as soon as it is adopted in the Government meeting, it will create predictability for both companies and people, declared the Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, at the end of the debates in Parliament, at “Government Hour”.

“We have already completed the regulatory act by which we ensure that the price of natural gas will not increase after March 31, which gives stability, and, as soon as it is adopted in the Government meeting, it will create predictability for both companies and people. And I want everyone to be calm, despite the bombastic calls on social networks, on certain screens, that the price of natural gas will not increase for household consumers, because we are capping it from the producer, throughout the chain, we have a regulated tariff, so that we do not end up with a higher gas price natural gas for households,” explained Ivan, according to Agerpres.

Regarding support for vulnerable consumers, the minister stated that the mechanism of reducing electricity bills by 50 lei will continue and a similar mechanism of reducing gas bills by 100 lei will be introduced.

“It is a measure of the Social Democratic Party, with which the budget projection for 2026 was started. In the case of vulnerable energy consumers, we will continue that mechanism of reducing electricity bills by 50 lei for people with low incomes and, at the same time, we are discussing the introduction of this mechanism for the cold season, that is, October 1, 2026-March 31, 2027, of 100 lei for people with very low incomes, in terms of natural gas,” said Bogdan Ivan.

The Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, participated on Monday in the political debates “Government Hour” in Parliament, at the request of the USR parliamentary group.
