Primary energy resources decreased by 8.4% in the first four months, compared to the same period in 2019, and electricity resources decreased by 1.5%, according to data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

According to statistics, the main primary energy resources in the first four months totaled 10.612 million tons of oil equivalent (toe), down 979,000 toe from the same period last year.

At the same time, the domestic production amounted to 6.32 million toe, decreasing by 512,000 toe compared to the same period of the previous year, and the import was of 4.292 million toe.

During this period, electricity resources were of 21.991 billion kWh, down 325.1 million kWh, compared to the corresponding period of 2019.

Also, the production from thermal power plants was of 7.260 billion kWh, decreasing by 1.502 billion kWh (-17.1%), according to Agerpres.

At the same time, the production from hydropower plants was of 4.566 billion kWh, decreasing by 338.7 million kWh (-6.9%), and that from nuclear power plants was of 4.1 billion kWh, increasing by 130 million kWh (+ 3.3%).

In terms of production from wind power plants, this was of 2.937 billion kWh in the first four months, up 188.8 million kWh from the same period of last year, and solar energy produced in photovoltaic installations during this period was of 548.5 million kWh, increasing by 31.3 million kWh compared to the corresponding period of 2019.

On the other hand, the final electricity consumption in this period was of 17.885 billion kWh, 5.4% lower than in the corresponding period of 2019. Public lighting decreased by 3.7%, and population consumption increased by 2.7%.

According to the quoted source, the export of electricity was of 1.976 billion kWh, increasing by 795.8 million kWh, and the own technological consumption in networks and stations was of 2.130 billion kWh, decreasing by 102.9 million kWh.
