Hidroelectrica returns to first position in the capitalization top on the BVB, with a market value of 62.4 billion lei

    On Thursday, February 5, Hidroelectrica returned to first position in the ranking of companies listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), in terms of market capitalization, confirming investors’ confidence in the company’s performance and development strategy.

    During the trading session on February 5, 2026, Hidroelectrica’s share registered an appreciation of approximately 14% compared to September 2025. This positive evolution was directly reflected in the company’s market capitalization, which increased by approximately 7.7 billion lei, from 54.7 billion lei to 62.4 billion lei.

    As a result, Hidroelectrica returned to first position in the market capitalization top, consolidating its status as the largest Romanian company listed on the stock exchange.

    At the same time, from the perspective of the total return of the share price, adjusted for distributed dividends, the company’s evolution was significant. On September 1, 2025, the total return was approximately 39%, and on February 5, 2026, during the trading session, it reached a level of approximately 56%.

    The stock market performance was also supported by the achievement of a historical maximum of the share price, recorded on January 28, 2026, at the level of 142 lei/share. This threshold corresponded to a market value of 63.8 billion lei, representing an increase of approximately 17% compared to September 2025.

The company’s return to the top position in the stock market capitalization ranking confirms investors’ confidence in our development direction, in the major projects underway, as well as in the hydro-solar hybridization and storage programs. We continue to invest responsibly in infrastructure modernization, in the expansion of renewable capacities and in innovative solutions, to ensure sustainable growth, energy security and long-term value for shareholders and for the Romanian economy,” said Bogdan Badea, CEO of Hidroelectrica.

    The results recorded confirm the company’s financial solidity, the attractiveness of Hidroelectrica’s shares for investors, as well as its capacity to generate sustainable value for shareholders, in a complex economic and energy context.

    Hidroelectrica is the largest producer of electricity from renewable sources in Romania and one of the most important players in the energy sector of South-Eastern Europe. With a portfolio of over 6.3 GW of installed capacity in hydropower plants, cumulated with the Crucea wind farm, the company contributes to national energy security and to achieving the decarbonization objectives set by EU policies.
