Hidroelectrica is investing 8.36 million lei (excluding VAT) from its own funds for professional liability insurance services covering members of the company’s Supervisory Board and Management Board—including their respective chairpersons—according to a tender notice published in the Electronic Public Procurement System (SEAP).

According to the documentation, bidders must demonstrate that, over the past three years, they have “provided and successfully completed similar services with a cumulative value of at least 5 million lei, excluding VAT.”

“Similar services are defined as professional and/or managerial liability insurance services covering damages or financial losses resulting from acts, deeds, errors, omissions, or breaches of obligations committed during the exercise of management, administration, or supervisory roles, or professional activities, of a complexity comparable to or greater than the services subject to this procurement,” the document states, according to Agerpres.

The participation guarantee is 83,575 lei, and the performance bond amounts to 5% of the contract’s total value (excluding VAT).

The contract will be awarded for a 12-month period following an open tender, with the award criterion being the “best price-quality ratio.” The deadline for the submission of bids is October 19, 2026, at 3:00 PM. Hidroelectrica reported a 62% increase in net profit for the first half of this year, reaching 2.57 billion lei, driven by a 17% rise in energy production.

The company is Romania’s largest energy producer, with a 100% renewable energy portfolio. Hidroelectrica is also the largest electricity supplier by market share and the primary provider of technological services essential to the National Energy System.
