Hidroelectrica has launched an open tender for a contract, estimated at 49.51 million euros, for the acquisition and installation of mechanical and electrical equipment at CHE Nehoiașu II in order to expand the 110 kV transformer station, according to an announcement published on the public tender website.
The project “Acquisition and installation of mechanical and electrical equipment at CHE Nehoiașu II, expansion of the 110 kV transformer station” mainly involves works for turbines, design activities (preparation of technical documentation for mechanical equipment, electrical equipment/object), manufacturing/procurement, testing, packaging, transport, delivery, as well as the installation of newly executed equipment and installations, tests and checks, both in the factory and on site, commissioning and personnel training. The procurement documented by this contracting strategy aims to award a “turnkey” contract, which, in addition to the activities listed above, involves works, design, assembly and commissioning of mechanical and electrical equipment at the plant”, the announcement states, according to Agerpres.
The place of execution of the work – Surduc-Siriu Hydropower Development is located on the territory of Buzău, Vrancea and Covasna counties and includes the development of the Buzău River, as well as the development of the Bâsca Mare and Bâsca Mică rivers.
The total estimated value of the contract is 49,507,250.32 euros, and the award criterion is the best quality-price ratio. The duration of the contract implementation is 44 months.
The funds come from Hidroelectrica’s own sources.
One of the requirements imposed by Hidroelectrica is that the bidder (individual economic operator or association) must prove an average turnover for the last 3 available financial years (2022, 2023, 2024) of at least 25 million euros.
Another requirement is that economic operators submitting the bid must prove a general liquidity for the year 2024 of at least 1 (or at least 100%). In the case of participation in a consortium, the general liquidity requirement will apply to each participant in the consortium.
Also, the bidder must provide proof of the design/supply/installation/commissioning of hydroelectric power plants similar to the one that is the subject of the acquisition at the level of one or more contracts completed in the last 15 years, whose cumulative value must be at least 25 million euros, excluding VAT.
In addition, the contractor must hold authorizations/certificates issued by authorized bodies: ANRE, ISCIR, National Center for Fire Safety and Civil Protection, IGPR.
The deadline for receiving bids or requests to participate is October 13, 2025.
