The car purchase subsidy program for individuals will be launched this month, the AFM announced on its official website.

“The Environmental Fund Administration informs that, in September, the session for individuals will be launched within the Program on the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in transport, by promoting non-polluting and energy-efficient road transport vehicles, dedicated to individuals, one of the most anticipated programs to stimulate the renewal of the national car fleet and support non-polluting mobility,” the institution claims.

In the preceding period, the session intended for authorized dealers will be opened, with the session for beneficiaries – individuals to be launched at the end of September.

The AFM reduced the subsidy for purely electric cars to approximately 3,700 euros, but kept the other ceilings unchanged.

“According to the new proposed provisions, the value of the eco-ticket for purely electric or hydrogen fuel cell vehicles will be 18,500 lei, financial support that individuals who wish to purchase non-polluting vehicles will be able to benefit from.

“In the context of the emergency ordinance approved in the Government meeting of August 19, 2025, which establishes the launch of the Rabla Auto Program for individuals, within the limit of 200 million lei, the value of the vouchers for electric vehicles will be reduced to respond to the current economic situation and to allow a larger number of beneficiaries to access the program,” said Florin Bănică, president of the Environmental Fund Administration.

The amount of the eco-ticket for other types of vehicles remains unchanged, namely 15,000 lei for the purchase of a new plug-in hybrid vehicle or an electric motorcycle, 12,000 lei for the purchase of a new vehicle with a hybrid propulsion system and 10,000 lei for the purchase of a new vehicle with a thermal propulsion system (internal combustion, including LPG/CNG engine) or a motorcycle.
