Bulgarian engineering and construction company Solaris Holding, a joint venture between Bulgarian-German solar photovoltaic (PV) plant developer Sunotec and the main shareholders of energy and insurance group Eurohold Bulgaria, has signed financing agreements for four standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) projects, Sunotec said.
The BESS projects, Pazardzhik 1 and 2, Ivaylovgrad and Vratsa-grad, will have a combined capacity of 107 MWh, Sunotec said in a LinkedIn post, according to Seenews.
Financial details were not disclosed.
“These projects represent a significant step towards strengthening grid stability and enabling greater integration of renewable energy in Southeast Europe,” Sunotec said.
In June, Solaris Holding launched a new hybrid renewable energy park near the northwestern city of Vratsa, with an installed capacity of 59.8 MWp, enough to power over 22,000 households, and a 107.3 MWh energy storage system.
Last year, the company inaugurated a hybrid green energy production and storage park in the city of Pernik.
