HELLENiQ Renewables Romania, the local subsidiary of HELLENiQ Renewables and a member of HELLENiQ ENERGY, a leading integrated energy group in South-Eastern Europe, has announced the acquisition of two large-scale renewable energy projects in Romania, signaling the company’s strategic commitment to the country’s energy market. In addition to the 96 MW RTB wind project in the county of Galati, whose construction will start soon and commissioning is expected in 2027, HELLENiQ Renewables Romania has also acquired a 186 MW wind farm with a 186 MW/186 MWh BESS Ready-to-Build (RTB) hybrid BESS Ready-to-Build (BESS) project in the county of Vaslui.

The new investments further strengthen the company’s presence in the Romanian renewable energy and renewable energy sources (RES) market, adding to an existing portfolio that includes 211 MW of PV projects under construction and a substantial pipeline of projects under development. HELLENiQ ENERGY aims to play an active role in Romania’s energy transition, bringing international expertise, technological innovation and long-term value creation to the local economy.

The new acquisitions in Romania are part of a wider renewable energy development portfolio of 6 GW, which also includes Greece, Cyprus, the Republic of Northern Macedonia and Bulgaria and is aligned with HELLENiQ ENERGY’s goal of reaching an installed capacity of 2 GW by 2030.
