Gazprom chief Alexei Miller discussed issues related to gas supply and transit with Bulgarian energy minister Temenuzhka Petkova this week, the Russian state-owned gas group said.

The meeting held in Moscow addressed “the current and emerging issues pertaining to bilateral cooperation”, with an emphasis on Russian gas supplies to Bulgaria and gas transit across Bulgaria in the context of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline project, according to a statement posted on Gazprom’s website, according to SEEnews.com.

The discussion was part of a meeting of the working group for energy of the Russian-Bulgarian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.

The Turkish Stream pipeline project is meant to transport Russian gas across the Black Sea to consumers in Turkey and further to Turkey’s border with neighbouring countries for delivery to southern and southeastern Europe.
