Spring Cocktail 2026: Energy forecasts for the year
19 Mar 2026 @ 18:00 - 22:00
On March 19, at 6 p.m., at the Cesianu-Racoviță Palace – Artmark, in Bucharest (see map!), Energynomics is organizing the 13th edition of Spring Cocktail! While in 2025 we focused on accelerating investments in modernization and transition amid challenging domestic economic and fiscal conditions, in 2026 we will take a closer look at macroeconomic dynamics, price developments, and the maturation of the local market, based on the completion of numerous large-scale projects.
Romania enters 2026 in a more austere macroeconomic context, marked by moderate economic growth and persistent pressure on financing costs, which limits private investment appetite, especially in energy-intensive industries. In this context, public funding—through the NRRP (scheduled to end in the middle of the year!), the Modernization Fund, and European instruments dedicated to the energy transition—will remain the main driver and guarantor of continued investment in the sector. With GDP growth below regional potential and heightened caution on the part of private capital, these public mechanisms will support not only the development of new energy capacities, but also infrastructure modernization, network digitization, and energy efficiency projects, ensuring a minimum of predictability at a time when the market needs stability rather than accelerated expansion..

„The year 2026 will be less about volume and more about financial discipline. Investors will prioritize bankable projects with clear contractual structures, predictable cash flow, and close completion dates. As the market advances to more and more sophisticated levels, companies are forced to rethink not only their pricing and portfolio strategies, but also their general behaviour, in a context of increased short-term volatility. In the medium term, the new context may finally lead to faster development of the PPA segment, as well as new risk management tools.”
