Battery energy storage systems – BESS Romania
26 Sep 2024 @ 10:00 - 15:00
On Thursday, September 26 2024, at Grand Hotel Continental Bucharest, Energynomics organizes a meeting dedicated to battery energy storage solutions, where we will expose the trends and challenges facing the Romanian renewable energy industry and promote relevant discussions in order to chart a solid path for the near future.
Throughout the day, we will provide an overview of the latest market developments, share best practices in network balancing, current regulations in Romania and Europe, Storage as a Service” (SaaS) and the use of BESS in microgrids for resilience and efficiency, while discovering cost-saving storage technologies and emerging trends.
Admission is subject to confirmation of participation from the organisers.
CONTEXT
Battery energy storage for utility-scale projects is becoming an essential element in the transition to renewable energy sources, providing flexibility to electricity grids and stabilising power flows. The growing demand for storage solutions is supported by national carbon reduction targets and resources committed through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
More than 150 companies have expressed their intention to realise projects to store energy in batteries (135) and/or to develop production facilities across the entire battery value chain (production and/or assembly and recycling) (10).
Dozens of other firms are poised to offer services including energy management systems, hybrid system operation and maintenance, generation capacity aggregation, consumption profiling and demand-response to enable the so-called “energy islands” and energy communities of the future.
