Enery, one of the leading independent power producers in Central and Eastern Europe, has officially inaugurated the Stella photovoltaic power plant—with an installed capacity of 37 MWp—in Dynín, South Bohemia. Located alongside a highway, the plant will supply renewable electricity to the automotive company BENTELER under a long-term green Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The project demonstrates how renewable energy can help Czech companies reduce energy costs during a period of volatile fossil fuel prices.

Stella comprises 51,636 solar modules, with an estimated annual electricity output of 47.2 GWh—equivalent to the annual consumption of approximately 15,700 Czech households. The plant utilizes bifacial modules mounted on single-axis trackers that follow the sun throughout the day to maximize output. It is also digitally monitored and controlled, allowing Enery to track performance in real-time and operate the facility in compliance with distribution grid requirements.

“Stella is a model project for the Czech solar energy industry,” stated Jan Krčmář, Executive Director of the Czech Solar Association. “It was built without subsidies, is located alongside a highway, and—thanks to modern, high-performance panels and solar tracking systems—occupies far less land than the photovoltaic plants the Czech public remembers from the solar boom of 2009–2010.”

Krčmář also highlighted that numerous other projects in the Czech Republic are ready for construction and could rapidly supply affordable electricity to both companies and households that lack roofs suitable for installing their own solar panels.

The PPA concluded with BENTELER links the new renewable generation capacity directly to the client’s long-term energy needs. This is one of three long-term green PPAs signed by Enery in the Czech Republic, reinforcing the company’s position as one of the most active players in the Czech corporate PPA market. The agreement also marks a new step in Enery’s strategy to build a more diversified and commercially oriented portfolio, combining renewable energy generation with long-term offtake agreements tailored to industrial and commercial clients.

The Stella photovoltaic plant also represents a significant milestone for Enery’s operations in the Czech Republic: it is the first plant in the company’s Czech portfolio that it has developed and built entirely in-house since entering the market. “For us, the Stella project represents much more than just another photovoltaic plant in our portfolio,” said Pavel Maleček, Enery’s Managing Director for the Czech Republic. “It is the first project in the Czech Republic that we have fully executed in-house, from development and construction to commissioning. The long-term PPA underpinning the Stella PV plant also illustrates the direction we intend to take in the Czech market: linking new renewable generation capacity with commercial solutions that meet the real energy needs of industrial customers.”
