NEPI Rockcastle has inaugurated the second photovoltaic park in its portfolio, in Ariceștii Rahtivani (Nedelea), Prahova County, with an installed capacity of 56.2 MW. The project, implemented together with Global Technical Systems (GTS), has an estimated annual output of approximately 73,000 MWh, according to the company.
Through the new park, alongside the one in Chișineu-Criș, Arad County, inaugurated last year, and the systems installed on the rooftops of its shopping centres, the group aims to cover 31% of its total electricity consumption from its own renewable sources by the end of 2026. The company reports a share of 6% two years ago.

The park covers 75.5 hectares and comprises more than 90,000 bifacial solar panels featuring N-type i-TOPCon technology. According to data provided by NEPI Rockcastle, the panels have an efficiency of up to 23% and a 30-year production guarantee.

The company estimates that the park’s output would cover the equivalent annual consumption of more than 40,000 households in Romania. Also according to NEPI Rockcastle, the project would avoid emissions of around 17,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually.
The park is part of the group’s green energy investment programme, which has a budget of more than 100 million euros for developing photovoltaic capacity in the region.
The site was previously used for mineral aggregate extraction. The land between the rows of panels is currently used for grazing sheep belonging to local farmers, according to the press release.
The park’s infrastructure includes its own transformer station which, according to the company, allows for the future integration of battery energy storage systems (BESS).
