The air conditioner is one of the largest consumers of energy in the house, being responsible for about 17% of the annual consumption of a household, according to E.ON Romania.

According to studies by the European Commission, a regular air conditioning system uses the same amount of electricity in a single month as a refrigerator with a freezer consumes in a year. Therefore, in a context marked by rising energy prices, purchasing the most energy efficient system is a wise choice.

Replacing an old device that is still working may seem like an unnecessary investment, but it is not. According to the quoted source, superior comfort is achieved through high-performance cooling, and the difference in money compared to a less efficient appliance is recovered due to lower energy consumption.

“In the last two years, 10,000 home customers have chosen the turnkey cooling solution E.ON Cool with air conditioning and technical services included. Thanks to Inverter technology, it ensures increased energy performance and helps reducing the consumption of electricity by up to 33%. Thus, the company’s customers together save about 1,000,000 kWh per year, compared to the use of low-efficiency appliances,” say E.ON representatives.

According to company representatives, for energy bill savings, a consumer must choose an air conditioner with Inverter technology, clean the air conditioner filters every two months and set the optimum temperature in the home.

“The temperature for the optimum operation of an air conditioner is between 21°C and 25°C. For an ambient temperature lower than 21°C, the air conditioner will be charged at high power and will consume more electricity,” says the release.
