Romania started the winter period with more than 3 billion cubic meters of gas in storage, all the necessary measures being implemented so that end consumers do not have problems in the supply of energy and natural gas, regardless of the temperatures, said Dan Drăgan, state secretary with the Ministry of Energy.

“It is not a very special winter. Within the Ministry of Energy, all the necessary measures have been implemented to be able to pass this period – and here I would refer primarily to the gas stored in underground storage. We started this winter period with over 3 billions of cubic meters stored,” said Dan Drăgan, according to Agerpres.

At the same time, the Secretary of State stated that during the winter command, preparations were made regarding the stocks for the production of electricity, but also regarding the coal and the volumes of water stored in lakes.

“Everything was prepared in the framework of the winter command that started this stage right at the end of this summer. All these measures that were implemented by the Ministry of Energy lead us to a quiet period, a period in which the final consumers, regardless of whether they are households or industrial, will not have problems in the supply of energy and natural gas, regardless of the temperatures. Stocks are made according to the schedules – and all units contribute to make and supply gas and electricity available to the final consumers,” stated Drăgan.
